🎨 NEGATIVE PAINTING 🎨

Hi there, Liron here (:

In today's video we'll use this painting I did of the Black Panther to learn about NEGATIVE PAINTING.

Negative painting is when you create a shape by painting around it.

Coincidentally, this painting process turned out to be the perfect demo of this. It involves many instances where I have to negative paint.

In addition to just showing the technique, it also shows how I DRAW as a preparation for negative painting.

This is especially visible with the mask. You can see I draw LINES, and then paint around those lines. This is meant to simplify the drawing and allow the painting to do the heavy lifting.

🎨 MATERIALS 🎨

Paints (Daniel Smith):

1. French Ultramarine
2. Quinacridone Rose
3. Hansa Yellow medium

Paper: Saunders-Waterford, Hot Press, 600gsm
