This is the first video in a new series about the Boyuurange / Reisong A50 300B / 6SN7 MKIII, made in China HiFi vacuum tube amp, which will include a full technical review as built and then the DIY low cost modifications to improve this popular amplifier. Just like I did with the Nobsound 6P1, I know I can make this a much better amplifier and will show you how to do it yourself!

After talking with folks who have tested this amp, I believe it suffers from the same problems I ran into in my own 300B Tube amp build and suspect the changes I made on mine, will also work on this amp.

I decided to make a quick unboxing and first impressions video as the starting point. I already see some odd choices in the power supply setup and believe that fixing these + rewiring the input tubes as a cascode will wake up this amplifier. I also plan to do some tube rolling, as well as some other tricks, to bring out the best in this product at a low cost to you.

I now have equipment to perform frequency response sweeps, measure power vs THD etc, as well as look at the output on my analog scope. Clearly in keeping with this channel, I will be spending a lot of time listening to it as built, and after each modification is done.
