for first fight you need at least 400hp and 10 armor otherwise his gaping wounds will be too much to heal through, than just run in circles, using the topside corridor at your favor and always make him use his combo (gaping + ground strike) on the same side of the arena so you can run farther and heal more time

for second fight you need at least one interrupt, but two is great, also, healing while he casts the firestrike and nova is kinda needed... this is also a mechanically intense fight, you need to identify the spell names quickly: nova means use potion and than hide on pillars; fire strike means use potion and interrupt as late as possible; and soulstrike means nothing so only interrupt it if you have spare cooldowns

i used no souls and weak items to prove that this is doable even if youre new to the game
