Описание
On June 5, 1983, during the next flight from Rostov to Moscow, the ship "Alexander Suvorov" crashed on the Volga River in the city of Ulyanovsk. The helmsman of the vessel mistakenly directed the vessel into the unnavigable span of the Imperial Bridge, as a result of which the entire upper deck, including the wheelhouse and the cinema hall, was cut off the bridge structure from the ship. 176 people died in the crash. After the crash, the ship was towed first to Aksai near Rostov-on-Don, and then to the city of Kiliya on the Danube River (Ukraine), where it was restored by the specialists of the Slovenske lodenice plant. The structures of the wheelhouse, cinema hall, chimneys were re-made. The ship has new lifeboats.
