There are a few manual steps to take to ensure you can run your XCode template on your M1 Mac.

First you have to exclude arm64 for simulator architecture from your project. To do that, navigate to Project } Build Settings of your project. Then, under Architectures } Excluded Architectures, add Any iOS Simulator SDK with value arm64. Then, do the same for the Pods project.
